Bromley: tell your councillors to act

Dean Miller was elected for Reform in St Paul's Cray in May. ITV's undercover investigation filmed him calling for King Charles to be beheaded, describing Black children as "animals", and said: "We've been ethnically cleansed out of London".

He's left Reform but still sits on Bromley Council. Ask Bromley's councillors to call for him to resign.

To the councillors of Bromley Council,

We are writing as residents of Bromley about Councillor Dean Miller, who was filmed by ITV’s undercover investigation making racist and violent comments.

Councillor Miller claimed King Charles is secretly a Muslim and said he should be beheaded: “Cut the c*nt’s head off, sorry.” He described Black children as “animals”, and said: “We’ve been ethnically cleansed out of London.” He was elected for Reform in St Paul’s Cray in May. He told ITV he was heavily medicated at the time. He has since left the party but remains a councillor.

This behaviour erodes trust in politics and has no place on our council. Whatever our politics, residents deserve to know that the people representing them will not stand for it.

A council motion cannot remove a councillor. But it can make clear, on the record, that Bromley’s elected representatives reject this behaviour. We are asking you, whatever your party, to bring a cross-party motion to the next full council meeting condemning these comments and calling on Councillor Miller to resign.

We hope you will work together across party lines to do this.
