FAQs

What happens when I make a referral to HOPE not hate?

Your referral will be passed onto our dedicated de-radicalisation caseworker, who will assess the circumstances around the report and get back to you with a recommended course of action.

We cannot always provide individuals with complete confidentiality, as any reports of child abuse or criminal activity must be passed onto the correct authority.

Will the police or other agencies be involved if you make a report to HNH?

If a crime has been committed against a child, or the individual is an immediate danger to the public, the police will need to become involved.

They will work with our caseworker and together decide the best way to keep the child safe from harm. HOPE not hate will always aim to work closely with other agencies that work with the child and their family.

We believe it is very important to work together to protect children from harm and all these partner agencies work to the same procedures and guidelines, and keep in close contact.
